The Mobile Access Facility™ (MAF™) is accessible transportable accommodation with a powered platform lift and roll-in shower.

The MAF™ is a self-contained accessible unit on a road-transportable trailer. It has a powered platform lift at the side door and steps at the rear. It suits guests who can operate the lift and doors themselves, or with a carer they bring. The unit is unstaffed and self-contained. The doorway, shower, toilet and bed height are already sorted, so none of them ends a trip early.

Getting in
Two ways in: a powered platform lift at the side door, and steps at the rear. The lift carries you and your chair to floor level; the door slides open on a touch pad so there is nothing to grip or pull.
Platform lift rated load: 300 kg. Entry door clear accessway: 840 mm minimum.
The bathroom
The shower floor is level with the room, so you roll straight in. There is a fold-down seat, a hand shower on a slide rail, and fixed rails at the shower and at the toilet. The toilet is at transfer height with clear space to pull alongside. The floor is slip-resistant throughout, and hot water is temperature-limited at the tap.
Sleeping and living
One profiling bed, plus a spare bed. The profiling bed raises, lowers and sits you up on a handset. There is clear space beside the bed for a carer or a second chair. Climate control, on-demand hot water, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a television, a height-adjustable desk, electric privacy blinds and USB and power points at the bed and the desk.

Price and lead time
From $196,900 AUD including GST ($179,000 AUD ex GST). Lead time depends on order volume and is confirmed on your quote. Free delivery within the Perth metropolitan area (postcodes 6000 to 6199). Regional WA delivery is from $500 AUD ex GST and is confirmed on quote, with configuration and commissioning. For commercial quantities, please contact us.

Questions people ask
Who is the MAF™ for?
People with physical access needs who want to travel, stay near family, or live where they choose, on their own or with a carer or support worker they arrange. It is not designed for people living with cognitive impairment, because it is unstaffed and relies on the guest operating the lift and doors.
Do you provide care or support workers?
No. Fortitude Essentials™ provides accommodation and infrastructure only. We do not provide care, nursing or supervision, and we do not make medical claims. You are welcome to bring your own support worker or carer; there is room for them.
How do I get in with a wheelchair?
A powered platform lift at the side door takes you and your chair up to floor level. The door opens on a touch pad. There are also steps at the rear for anyone who prefers them.
Can I roll into the shower?
Yes. The shower floor is level with the bathroom floor. There is a fold-down seat, a hand shower on a slide rail and fixed rails.
Will my powered chair fit?
Doorway, turning circle and lift measurements are listed above. Use the chair check to send us your chair’s width and length, and we will reply with a yes or no and a photo with the tape in shot.
Where is it set up?
For stays, at a caravan park we arrange. Stays are $350 AUD per night with a two-night minimum, and the site fee is included. For hire and purchase, at your site after a site check for access, ground and services: a caravan park, a provider’s site, an event or worksite, or at home in a driveway or garden. How long a unit can be lived in on a residential property depends on your local council; we check this with you as part of the site check. We currently deliver within Western Australia only.
Can NDIS funding be used?
We work with individuals who may receive NDIS funding. Holiday accommodation is generally not funded, so please speak with your plan manager or support coordinator about whether a stay can be claimed. A unit purchase is high-cost assistive technology and needs an assessor’s report and a written quote. The report comes from your own assessor; we provide the written quote.
Is the design protected?
Yes. The Mobile Access Facility™ is Patent Pending. Manufacturers and operators can request a briefing under a non-disclosure agreement.
