Why events need one
A portable toilet block, even an accessible one, does not serve a person who needs a hoist and a change table, or the carer with them. Without a facility, many people leave early or do not come. An adult change facility is increasingly expected at major events, and a relocatable pod lets an organiser provide one for a weekend without a permanent building.
What event hire will include (when it opens)
- Delivery by tilt-tray truck to a level pad or firm ground you nominate, and collection afterwards.
- Commissioning on site: hoist, powered change table, accessible toilet, automatic door, emergency call system and battery backup tested and demonstrated to your site manager.
- A short induction for your event staff and the safety cards fixed inside the pod.
- Your acknowledgement or a sponsor’s on the exterior wrap, if arranged in advance.
- A bond of one month’s hire payment, or the hire fee if shorter, returned after collection.
Pricing, minimum hire periods and availability will be confirmed in writing when event hire opens. The MAF™ is already available to hire for events that need accessible accommodation for staff, performers or guests.
What your event site needs
- Firm, level ground or a pad for the skids, with tilt-tray access during bump-in and bump-out.
- A 240 V supply (single or twin 15 amp, or 32 amp) from your event electrician or site power. Battery backup covers the lights, door and emergency call in an outage but does not run the pod for the event.
- Potable water at a standard fitting.
- A sewer connection point. Sewer connection as standard. A licensed plumber arranged by Fortitude Essentials makes the connection, and it is a priced line on your quote. We give you a written connection specification before delivery and confirm the connection at commissioning. Where there is no sewer, an approved holding tank can be used; pump-outs are by a licensed liquid waste contractor you engage, and the tank is emptied before any move. If your site has no sewer, say so on the form and we will confirm in writing what the site needs before hire is agreed.
- Your event’s approvals for the facility, and a named person to respond to the emergency call.

Who operates it during the event?
Your event. Fortitude Essentials delivers, commissions and collects, and is on call for faults. Your staff manage access, cleaning and the emergency call response.
Do you supply hoist slings?
No. People who use a ceiling hoist bring their own sling, and signage in the pod says so.
Can we hire a pod and a Mobile Access Facility™ together?
Yes. The MAF™ is available to hire now for event accommodation. Ask on the form.
Is this the same as a Changing Places facility?
The pods are designed for Changing Places accreditation. Accreditation is given to an installed facility by a Changing Places assessor; a pod on short-term hire at an event is not accredited unless an assessor has inspected it in place.
