Essential Access Anywhere™
Concept render of the Fortitude Essentials Essential Access Pod, adult change room, exterior front right at a beachfront reserve.

Adult change rooms for holiday parks and tourism operators

Accessible tourism is the fastest-growing part of the caravan and holiday park market, and the guests who need a hoist and a change table are the ones most parks still cannot host.

An Essential Access Pod is a full-size adult change room on steel skids, delivered by tilt-tray truck to a pad beside your amenities block, your pool or your beach access, and designed for Changing Places accreditation. Buy it, or lease it for 12 months or more and move it once a year as your season changes.

Why a park adds one

  • Families and groups who travel with a person with high support needs choose the park that can host them, and they stay longer because they have fewer places to choose from.
  • Your existing accessible amenities serve guests who can transfer themselves. A hoist and a change table serve the guests who cannot.
  • A pod means no building project for a new amenities block and no shutdown of the one you have. It sits on a pad and connects to the services you already run.
  • Pair it with a Mobile Access Facility™ stay and your park can host a guest from arrival to departure: a bed with a lift to get in, and a full-size change room beside the pool.

Buy or lease

Buy

Built to order, itemised written quote, delivered and commissioned on your pad. Yours to keep, with a written warranty against defects. Suits a park that knows where the pod will live.

Lease

12-month minimum, 24 and 36 month terms available. Servicing and one relocation per 12 months included, so the pod can sit by the pool in summer and by the camp kitchen in winter. Design and build deposit at signing, credited against your first months; bond of one month’s payment; option to buy at the end at a price fixed when you sign. Delivery: an estimated five months from the signed lease agreement and cleared deposit. The estimate is confirmed on your written quote and in your lease agreement.

Pricing by itemised written quote. Leases are offered to organisations and businesses, not to individuals for a home.

Tourism operators and attractions

Wildlife parks, visitor centres, adventure parks, botanic gardens, foreshore reserves and regional attractions face the same gap. A pod can sit at the entry precinct or beside the car park, with your acknowledgement on the wrap. Tourism operators that are not councils buy or lease; a council-owned attraction may be able to fund a purchase through the Accessible Australia programme, which the Funding page explains.

What the site needs

  • A level pad or slab at ground level, so no ramp is needed; or a raised placement with a ramp and landing, priced on your quote.
  • Tilt-tray access along your internal roads.
  • A 240 V outlet (single or twin 15 amp, or 32 amp) from a licensed electrician.
  • Potable water at a standard fitting.
  • A gravity sewer connection point. Sewer connection as standard. A licensed plumber arranged by Fortitude Essentials makes the connection, and it is a priced line on your quote. We give you a written connection specification before delivery and confirm the connection at commissioning. Where there is no sewer, an approved holding tank can be used; pump-outs are by a licensed liquid waste contractor you engage, and the tank is emptied before any move. If your park is on septic, tell us on the form and we will confirm in writing what the site needs.
  • Local government approval for a relocatable building where it applies, and the landowner’s consent if you lease the park land.

The park operates the pod: access (an MLAK key or your reception), cleaning, consumables, emergency call response. Fortitude Essentials keeps the equipment working and visits on the servicing schedule in your agreement.

Engineered to a proprietary access standard that exceeds minimum regulatory requirements.

Accreditation and listing

Designed for Changing Places accreditation; accredited only when a Changing Places assessor has inspected the installed facility. Fortitude Essentials supplies the drawings and certificates the assessor needs. An accredited facility can be listed on the National Public Toilet Map, which is how travelling families find you.

Frequently asked questions

Can guests who are not staying use it?

That is your decision as operator. Many parks open the facility to day visitors with an MLAK key, which also helps a council-funded application if the park is council-owned.

Can we move it ourselves?

No. Only Fortitude Essentials lifts, moves or relocates a pod. One relocation per 12 months is included in a lease; further moves are quoted.

What happens in a power cut?

Battery backup keeps the lights, the door and the emergency call working for a period stated in your agreement.

Can we add it to a Mobile Access Facility™ stay offer?

Yes. The MAF™ Metro stay at a host park and a pod beside the amenities block are designed to work together. See the Stay page.

Do you take bookings for us?

No. Fortitude Essentials supplies and services the pod; you run it as part of your park.

Is there a cost to register interest or ask for a quote?

No, and no payments are taken on this website for pods.

Request a quote or register for event hire

Tell us where the pod would go and which way suits you. We reply within one business day with the next step: a quote, a lease quote, or confirmation that you are registered for event hire. Please do not include health information about any person.

Optional. The next questions help us quote accurately. Skip any you are not sure about.
